Morgan Jones (Lennie James) thinks he’s finally found a safe haven when Fear the Walking Dead returns for the second half of its sixth season. But honestly? He should have known better.
“We’re going to be set up to win,” says a clearly wounded Morgan in Decider’s exclusive look at the upcoming episodes. “We’ll be fighting on our own turf, and our own terms.”
…did we mention Morgan is clearly wounded when he’s saying this? So, yeah. With a number of different groups fighting for control of the areas surrounding Morgan’s new home, it looks like things might get a lot worse before they get better.
Those groups? First and foremost are Ginny’s (Colby Minifie) pioneers. The increasingly unhinged Ginny lost her sister and one of her hands in the closing episodes of the first half of the season, but she did manage to get Strand (Colman Domingo) over to her side. And worst of all, she revealed her trump card: an extremely pregnant Grace (Karen David), who she’s been hiding to wait for the proper time to use as leverage against Morgan.
There’s also Sherry’s (Christine Evangelista) group of masked rebels out there, as well as the still mysterious “The End is the Beginning” group. Added into the mix in these new episodes is John Glover’s requisite weirdo, who seems to have eyes for Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) in particular. Nick Stahl and Keith Carradine will also guest star in the upcoming episodes, and 6×13 will be directed by none other than Aisha Tyler.
Some good news for the real world, though. Fear the Walking Dead will officially premiere on AMC on Sunday, April 11 at 9/8c. However, as it did with The Walking Dead, AMC+ will premiere the first episode a week early on Sunday, April 4 (times vary based on where you have the app installed, but it should be there by the morning). Subsequent episodes of Fear the Walking Dead will premiere Thursdays on AMC+, before their broadcast debut the following Sunday.
Watch the rest of the exclusive promo above, and speculate wildly about who will win: Morgan, or Ginny.
