Leslie Jones Gives Us the Honest Synder Cut Review We Deserve

Leslie Jones is bringing out her inner film critic. The former SNL star was among the many DC fans who watched Zack Snyder’s Justice League during its first weekend on HBO Max, and in a series of live tweets, Jones shared exactly how she felt about the long-awaited superhero movie.

Per TheWrap, Jones shared all of her thoughts on the Snyder Cut with her followers yesterday, launching into an hours-long account of her experience with the movie. If you’ve already seen it, you know the new version of Justice League is about four hours long, but Jones is here to remind you with her own hashtag she added to her tweets: #longassmovie.

Over the course of dozens of tweets, Jones cheered on her favorites — “I love Wonder Woman!” — and even gave her own suggestions to characters — “GO TO THERAPY!! So sick of this!” and “Just give up you two!!”.

But true to her word, Jones stuck it out and watched the Snyder Cut in full. “Damn that was long as fuck!! Good Morning!!,” she tweeted earlier today.

While Jones had plenty to say about Justice League both good and bad, her own fans had nothing but praise for the comedian’s film critique. “Leslie Jones watching #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague is probably the best thing to happen to DCEU fandom / twitter like omg,” one wrote. Another added, “I hope Zack and Debbie Snyder are seeing Leslie Jones’ reactions to the Snyder Cut because it’s so pure and hilarious.”

Zack Snyder’s Justice League comes after the original Justice League premiered in theaters in 2017. While Snyder was originally attached to the project, he left after the death of his daughter and Joss Whedon was brought on to finish the project. Unhappy fans rallied to bring back the Snyder Cut, and finally got their wish when it landed on HBO Max earlier this month.

The new cut has debuted to mixed reviews, and not just from Jones, who is a seasoned critic of her own. If you haven’t seen her recaps of RuPaul’s Drag Race or The Equalizer, you’re missing out.
